Stanno prevalendo l'omologazione seriale, la trasformazione dei viventi in cose e la distruzione su scala globale della natura.
Per quanto ci si sforzi di concettualizzare e speculare, alla fine tutto questo noi lo sentiremo (e iniziamo già a sentirlo) con i nostri corpi.
Molte coscienze si stanno risvegliando e stanno realizzando che se il corpo è (e sarà) la massima vittima di quanto accade, è proprio dal corpo che si deve ri-partire per cambiare lo stato delle cose. E del corpo la PELLE (skin) è la parte che ci mette in contatto e relazione più profonda con gli altri e con la natura: il toccarsi di due corpi, il contatto con l'aria, l'acqua e l'erba, il freddo ed il calore.
La PELLE, il simbolo perfetto della funzione relazionale del corpo.
Il corpo è il tempio vivente dell'armonia, del Bello, della vitalità e certamente anche il luogo dello scontro con tutto ciò che vuole negare la sua importanza e la sua stessa esistenza. Il corpo, come luogo in cui la spinta creativa contemporanea può ritrovare quel primigenio rapporto con la bellezza che era proprio dell'arte più antica, ove l'armonia della Natura era vista come più alto modello e ispirazione di Bellezza (o Orrore, come altra faccia della medaglia, rifacendosi al concetto di “Sublime” di E. Burke, e negando qui la sua tesi di incompatibilità assoluta con il “Bello”)

Corpo come luogo di coincidenza del Bello e del Sublime (Orrido), in quanto parte della Natura e nostro assoluto veicolo di esistenza e percezione, che diviene ispirazione, modello e tela per gli artisti che meglio sentono questa attualissima spinta collettiva.

Corpo (inteso come unione di corpo propriamente detto, psiche, memorie ataviche e relazioni con altri viventi) come unico strumento a nostra disposizione per resistere al bio-potere, ovverosia al processo in atto che tende a rendere tutta la sfera vivente qualcosa di assimilabile a materia prima/prodotto: uniforme, seriale, quantificabile e portatore di un valore meramente economico.

Corpo come luogo fondamentale e focus della nostra discussione sui mutamenti che le scienze e tecnologie stanno portando nel mondo e sulle conseguenze oggi solo immaginabili con la fantasia e la creatività.
Il Manifesto delle Skin Art esplicita questa spinta presente nel mondo contemporaneo e invita i creativi, i pensatori e tutti coloro che sentono in sé tale coscienza, a partecipare ed a esplicitare nelle loro opere questo sentire.

The omologation, the transformation of living beings in things and destruction on a global scale of nature are prevailing.
Even if efforts are made to conceptualize and speculate about this, we have already started to feel it on our bodies.
Many consciences are awakening and are realizing that if the body is (and will be) the greatest victim of what is happening, it is from the body that we have to re-start to change the state of things. In our body, the SKIN is the part that connects us in the deepest relationship with others and with nature: the touching of two bodies, the contact with the air, water and grass, cold and heat.
The SKIN, the perfect symbol of the relational function of the body.
The body is the living temple of harmony, of beauty, vitality, and certainly also the site of the clash with everything that wants to deny its importance and its very existence. The body, as a place where the contemporary creative drive can regain that primal relationship with the beauty of the art that was known to the ancients, where the harmony of nature was seen as higher model and inspiration of beauty (or horror, as other side of the coin, referring to the concept of "Sublime" by E. Burke, but denying here his thesis of absolute incompatibility with the "Beautiful")

Body as a place of coincidence of the Beautiful and the Sublime (“Orrido”), as part of nature and our vehicle to existence and perception, which becomes inspiration, model and canvas for artists who better feel this current collective thrust.

The Manifesto of Skin Art explicits this push of the contemporary world and invites creative thinkers and all those who share this consciousness, to participate and to make it explicit in their works.
